Deliverance for the Children of Kayole
S&S Charity seeks to work with partners to support children and their families in the village of Kayole.
What's happening in Kayole?
Kayole is a low-income, high density slum in the Eastlands of Nairobi. Much of Kayole’s population are unemployed, live in abject poverty, and earn a salary of no more than $1 a day. Kayole is riddled with criminal gangs, kidnappings, armed and aggravated robberies, theft, as well as operates as a base for child trafficking. Many of the children do not attend school past ages of 6 and 7 and will live in a world of food and housing scarcity, violence and high risks of teen pregnancy.
How is S&S Charity responding?
Professional Development Workshops: Organize workshops and training sessions for educators in Kayole. These workshops could cover topics such as effective teaching strategies, classroom management, technology integration, and special needs education.
Mentorship Programs: Pair experienced educators with newer ones for mentorship. This can provide guidance, advice, and a space to discuss challenges and successes.
Technology Integration: Provide training on how to effectively use technology in the classroom. This could involve teaching educators how to use educational apps, online resources, and interactive tools to enhance the learning experience.
Upgrading Infrastructure: Focus on providing basic amenities such as clean water, sanitation facilities, and proper drainage systems to improve living conditions. We know that sustainable support requires ongoing efforts and a deep understanding of the local context. S&S Charity commits to engage with educators and locals to identify their needs and work collaboratively to implement effective strategies that will uplift the education system in Kayole, Nairobi as well as improve their quality of life.
