Our Story

Every summer, we—Sarah from Los Angeles and Saniha from Cupertino—would visit our hometown of Mangalore, India. One place we always returned to was a small orphanage run by a group of kind, selfless sisters who cared for children living with HIV/AIDS. Our mom would take us there when we were little—not as visitors, but as part of the family. We’d play with the kids, talk with them, sometimes just sit in silence and hold hands. Even as we grew older, the memory of those children never left our hearts.

As we got older, we stayed close to the sisters and asked if we could support the causes they were involved in. They welcomed us in, and over time we began assisting with their outreach work—first all around Mangalore, then across India wherever we were told the need was urgent—and eventually to places like Nairobi, Kenya, where the sisters extended their care to some of the world’s most underserved children, and where we had the chance to serve alongside them too.

In 2023, we officially started S&S Charity—not just to give back during the summer, but to build something lasting. Our mission is simple:

To make education, care, and opportunity a right—not a privilege—for every child.

Our focus is on underprivileged children—especially ensuring they have access to education, and standing by them in every way possible, from school supplies to medical care and emotional support.  Since then, we’ve worked with local nonprofits and caring organizations primarily in India, to support children’s education, health, and basic needs. As we grow, we believe that care and love know no borders—and we are committed to reaching as many children as possible.

We’ve raised funds through everything from plant sales to charity drives—and in Sarah’s case, by playing violin at events, with every performance helping fund a child’s future.

We don’t see this work as charity. We see it as a responsibility.
Because every child deserves a chance to learn. Every child deserves dignity.
And no child should ever feel like the world has forgotten them.

We believe that even the smallest act of care can ripple into a lifetime of opportunity.

With all our hearts,
Sarah & Saniha
